I can't vouch for flash fiction being the official term for it, but it has been coined that several times.

I'm quite behind on Glee and I can't wait to catch up. To be fair I'm behind on all TV - I don't own one so I'm catching up slowly with old series on my laptop. At the moment I'm watching Friday Night Lights religiously. I find it a brilliant show and such an intimate excavation on American Midwestern lifestyle. It's very real and very character-centric, just the way I love it.

Mm well it's more complex here. There are the Aussie-born Chinese and current-gen Chinese who moved here for education or whatnot. Those who were born here generally talk and act like any other Caucasian Aussie - shocking to most people who've never encountered them I would think. Melbourne is a pretty safe and cultured city with mostly social liberals, but racism lingers, especially in outer suburbs.

"Starving artist teaches English in China."

Brilliant. Love it. Have you heard of "For sale: baby shoes, never worn"? Flash fiction is really cool.

It's also really refreshing to have someone from a different generation being able to see Glee in a nice light. I agree with how it is effective in spreading American music and culture outwards. Lots of music that I otherwise wouldn't have discovered had they not being covered on Glee.
